6 Unusual Tips To Make More Time In Your Day

Still looking for more time even after meal prepping and listening to a sophisticated podcast while running on the treadmill? You’ve come to the right place!

Get Your Inbox Under Control With UnrollMe

Unroll me is a free email service that helps you figure out where you are subscribed to, unfollow these companies, keep the ones you like, and most importantly store your “meh” category as one huge email. I selected the morning email option for my batched emails, meaning around 8:30 am everyday I get ONE email with all of the spammy-but-I-may-want-a-coupon-sometime emails. I save time by reading them all at once, deleting them all at once, and not getting distracted by every ping coming into my inbox.

Robots.

Sounds more interesting than vacuuming. However we now live in the future and you can buy appliances that can work on their own. Buying a robotic vacuum that can work on its own allows you to eliminate one task off of your to-do list!

Travel During Off Peak Hours

Any New Yorker knows that your trip could be twenty minutes or an hour and twenty depending on how the trains feel like running. By trying to travel during off peak hours you beat the crowds and save commute time. If you can’t change when you go to work, think about changing the time you go out to do other tasks.

Use Apps To Increase Travel Efficiency

As a New Yorker I usually know the multiple routes I can take to get to a location using public transportation. Using the MTA subway app allows me to time my walk to an arriving train perfectly, and the MTA bus time website helps me determine what route I should take depending on when busses will arrive. Combining these helps me be as efficient as possible when it comes to connecting transfers.

Work Uniform

How much time do you spend trying to figure out what to wear for work? If the answer is too much, figure out your go-to outfit and then buy a bunch of that one outfit. Or, at least gather your already existing work pieces into one place. My go to outfit as a personal chef is a grey t-shirt and comfy (usually black) pants. Not convinced? There is a reason Mark Zuckerberg wears the same outfit everyday- he believes it makes him more productive by not spending time and brain space choosing what to wear. This leaves him more time to make productive decisions!

Clothes Swap

Every few months I invite some girlfriends over for a clothes swap. My apartment turns into a big changing room and ends up covered in a blanket of clothes. Every time, everyone decided that they are trying to just get rid of clothing, then we all end up taking quite a few pieces back home. Not only is this a fun way to spend an afternoon, it is a great way to give the clothes new life, and I have realized I hardly shop anymore! No shopping = time and money saved. Win-win!

Swapping requires snacking!

Hope you find some time to turn your dreams into reality!
